Last updated: March 2026
Tiggabyte ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Tiggabyte website (tiggabyte.com) and the FileForge desktop application (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our Services.

When you create a Tiggabyte account, we collect:
- Full name
- Email address
- Password (stored as a one-way hash; we never store or have access to your plaintext password)
- Company name (if provided)
1.2 Payment Information
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, bank account details, or other payment credentials on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment data.
1.3 FileForge Desktop Application Data
The FileForge desktop application communicates with our servers for authentication and license validation. During this process, the following data is transmitted:
- Authentication credentials: Your email and password (transmitted securely via HTTPS during sign-in only)
- Authentication token: A session token used to verify your identity without re-transmitting your password
- Application version: The version of FileForge you are running
- Device identifier: A one-way hash derived from hardware attributes, used solely for session management (not for tracking or fingerprinting)
1.4 Data We Do NOT Collect
We want to be clear about what we do not collect from the FileForge desktop application:
- File contents, file names, or file metadata of documents you process
- Browsing history, keystrokes, or screenshots
- Data from documents you compare, combine, split, redact, or otherwise manipulate
- Usage analytics or behavioral tracking within the application
1.5 Website Usage Data

2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Authenticate your identity and validate your software license
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Provide technical support
- Send important notices about your account or license (e.g., expiration reminders)
- Detect and prevent fraud or unauthorized access
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Server-Side Storage
Your account information and license data are stored on secure servers. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. Authentication tokens are generated using cryptographically secure methods.
3.2 Local Storage (FileForge Desktop)
The FileForge application stores the following data locally on your device in your system's application data directory (e.g., %APPDATA%\FileForge\ on Windows):
- Authentication token: Used to maintain your session without re-entering credentials
- License cache: A copy of your license status for offline access (includes plan type, expiration date, and account email)
- Preferences: Your saved email address if you opt into "Remember Me"
- Configuration: Application settings
You can delete all locally stored data at any time by using the "Log Out" function or by deleting the FileForge directory from your application data folder.
3.3 Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our Services. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

We use the following third-party services:
- Stripe: Payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
