What is PDF Splitter?
PDF Splitter is a powerful tool for extracting pages from PDFs and reordering them. Whether you need to split a large PDF into smaller files, extract specific pages, or rearrange page order, PDF Splitter provides an intuitive visual interface.

🚀 Getting Started
Quick Start Guide
- Load Your PDF
Click "Browse" or drag a PDF file into the field, then click "Load PDF". - View Thumbnails
All pages appear as thumbnails in the scrollable area. - Select Pages
Click thumbnails for borders (reorder) or checkboxes (split). - Perform Action
Use "Save as New PDF" to reorder, or "Split Selected Pages" to extract.

Understanding the Two Selection Types
💡 Key Concept
Border = Reorder | Checkbox = Split
Border Selection (Blue Border)
- How: Click on the thumbnail image itself
- Purpose: Select pages for reordering
- Visual: Blue border appears around thumbnail
- Multi-select: Hold Ctrl and click to select multiple pages
- Action: Drag bordered pages to reorder them
Checkbox Selection
- How: Click the checkbox in the top-right corner
- Purpose: Mark pages for splitting/extraction
- Visual: Checkbox becomes checked (✓)
- Multi-select: Click multiple checkboxes
- Action: Use "Split Selected Pages" to extract checked pages
📋 Common Workflows
Workflow 1: Extract Specific Pages
- Load your PDF file
- Click the checkbox on pages you want to extract
- Click "Split Selected Pages" button
- Choose where to save the new PDF
- New PDF contains only the checked pages
Workflow 2: Reorder Pages
- Load your PDF file
- Click thumbnails (not checkboxes) to select pages
- Drag selected pages to new positions
- Click "Save as New PDF"
- New PDF has pages in the reordered sequence
Workflow 3: Delete Unwanted Pages
- Load your PDF
- Check the boxes on pages you want to KEEP
- Click "Split Selected Pages"
- Save the result - unwanted pages are excluded

Helper Buttons
- Select All: Adds blue border to all pages (for reordering)

- Clear Selection: Removes borders and unchecks all boxes
Multi-Page Operations
Select multiple pages at once:
- Hold Ctrl and click to add pages to border selection
- Drag all bordered pages together as a group
- Check multiple boxes to extract several pages
💡 Tips & Best Practices
Efficient Selection
- Use "Select All" then deselect unwanted pages with Ctrl+Click
- Use "Check All" then uncheck pages you don't want to extract
- "Clear Selection" resets everything quickly
⚠️ Remember
Border selection and checkbox selection are independent. You can have pages both bordered AND checked - just make sure you use the right action button!
🔧 Troubleshooting
Q: Pages won't reorder when I drag them
A: Make sure the pages have blue borders (click thumbnail, not checkbox). Only bordered pages can be dragged.
Q: "Split Selected Pages" creates an empty PDF
A: You need to CHECK the boxes (✓) on pages to split them. Border selection doesn't work for splitting.
Q: I can't select multiple pages
A: Hold Ctrl while clicking thumbnails for border selection. For checkboxes, just click each one.
